The Story Behind Not Easily Broken-NEBS

IMG_150806153131482The voices of Not Easily Broken have a long history of ministry. Their vocal background is rooted deeply in gospel. Carissa, Lawanda, and Tamissa started singing with their father and sister in a group called Faithful. Jasmine joined the group when she came of age. Ebony started singing while young as well. They all participated on the youth praise team and choir ministries at church. While doing ministry , it was prophesied that they were called to do greater. After a decade of praise and worship ministry the group Not Easily Broken emerged in March 2013. The name is derived from the revelation conclusive from a devastating experience that the group went through as a whole. They were persecuted but not forsaken, cast down but not destroyed. That this life experience did not and will not break them.

Their journey started in Charleston, South Carolina at Rehoboth International Ministries in April 2013. There they kicked off the CD release concert of Pastor Quincy Brown and Protected Glory. Upon returning to Clarksville, they did community services and local events from April 2013 to September 2013. On September 6, 2013 they performed at Clarksville’s Annual Riverfest sharing the First Baptist stage with Sidewalk Prophets. The rest of the year they ministered at various programs and services. On January 16, 2014 they sang at the Pre-Stellar Award Show hosted by Damon King and Lemmie Battles. Stellar award nominee Deandre Patterson ministered there. Morrow, Georgia’s group Nu Purpose ministered as well. March 2014 they were invited to minister at their anniversary in Georgia. Coming home, they found out they were nominated for three categories of the Nashville GMC Awards in April 2014: New Artist of the Year, Group of the Year, and Choir of the Year. At that particular event the legendary Lashaun Pace graced the stage as well as other Nashville artist. In that same month they sang at the Serenity House “ People of Divine Purpose” Charity Program. May 2014 was the pancake breakfast to raise even more money for the Serenity House. September 2014 they appeared again on the first baptist stage of Clarksville’s Riverfest. This time sharing the stage with JJ Weeks Band. In October 2014 they sang at Clarksville’s Annual Stompfest. October 24, 2014 they sang at a Women’s conference called “ The Gift That Looks Good on You”.

IMG_8162All the blood, sweat, and tears finally paid off when their first single “Help” debuted on November 14, 2014. It opened the door to a radio interview with Treva Gordon and their sound hitting the airways. They then opened up the Leading Ladies Woman’s Conference of Clarksville TN on December 11, 2014. A couple days later they were blessed to be on the live recording of “Just Believe” in Nashville TN. In January 2015 they had the honor to participate in a honor service for Selma. This event was performed at a local military institution. They are looking forward to the many doors that God is allowing to open. They are ready to press forward despite adversity and continue to minister to the lost, broken, saved and unsaved.
